Another BEAUTIFUL day in Austin

The market in Austin was a little slow, but who cares...the weather was fantastic!  Also checked on a hives today but really didn't have to...the bees have come to me!  They made it into my warehouse.  In fact, one is buzzing around my head as I write this, and she is not happy.  More later!

Getting ready for market

This weekend promises to be a beautiful one. I've been preparing for it since Tuesday, bottling about 450 pounds of honey in 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12 lb jars. The honey right now is full of Aster pollen, as well as hundreds of other plants that have popped up in recent weeks after the rains. It is DELICIOUS!

The bottling was delayed a bit yesterday in preparation for what we did most of the day today. We were asked to set up a fake Farmer's Market booth in Georgetown for an ad agency that chose Round Rock Honey to use in an ad for the US Census. Apparently these ads will be used to show average folks in a variety of settings, ours being a rural one, all finding the time to participate in the census.

Welcome to the Official Blog of the Round Rock Honey Company!

Every week a call is made, or an email sent, to Round Rock Honey asking about the specifics of what it is like to keep bees, sell honey, and run a growing company. This blog is for all those aspiring entrepreneurs, all the wanna-bees, and everyone else who just wants to learn more about honey production, beekeeping, and the trials and joys of running a small business. Enjoy!
